Just got my Hard Back of Night Winds.
Odd, Red Riding Hood on the cover, will have to read it again to see who it is!

Chained and shackled we are bound
Freedom choked in dread we live

Got it, too. And I guess that Little Red Riding Hood is supposed to be Kane’s daughter from “Raven’s Eyrie”. I can think of no other character that does even halfway fit the bill.

While the books are solidly made I am not too mad about the artwork, btw. Artistically its fine, but for one Kane does in the stories never appear as semi-naked, loincloth-clad savage (and neither does Conan, while I’m at it), and then he should be much stockier, much broader in the shoulders. KEW is repeatedly very clear that, even though Kane is very tall, he doesn’t actually look it because he is so immensely broad in the chest, this great bulk making him actually look shorter — in one word stocky.
Bow down: I am the emperor of dreams;
I crown me with the million-colored sun
Of secret worlds incredible, and take
Their trailing skies for vestment when I soar.
